The Aftermath

So whats more fun than dressing up? More fun than knocking on strangers doors and asking for candy?? Well, the best part is getting home and dumping out your loot bag! I remember as a kid getting home and dumping out all my candy. Sorting it into the appropriate piles...suckers, gum, snickers, tootsie rolls. Then the trading began. Here are my kids, many years later, doing the same things my brothers and I did. So funny to watch!

What an Awesome Place!!

I have posted a couple times about helping out at a ranch around here where I live. Well, I headed out there last night and I just wanted to say just how AWESOME this ranch is! If you get a chance, check out their website www.rollingayouthranch.org . Last night we had a bunch of kids there to ride horses even though it was dark, they walked around by flashlight! Very cool! Then the volunteers had pumpkins set up for the kids to paint, a roaring campfire to roast marshmallows, and a GIANT leaf pile for the kids to jump into! If I had to guess, I think the leaf pile was a favorite! I would love to post so many pictures, but not allowed to for kids safety reasons. So the pictures posted are of people who work there. These kids come here for some fun and a break from "life". You can tell they are thrilled and look forward to it every month! I am always moved, sometimes to tears, when I leave because I think of how lucky and fortunate these kids are that the awesome ranch workers put this all together for them! I usually keep religion and politics out of my posts so as not to offend readers in anyway, but I have to say, I always leave there feeling God was working with us, to help create this wonderful, caring environment for the kids.

Kids Halloween party!

Well, I have been fighting some sort of sickness for almost a week now, so I have been horrible on the posting! But thought at least I could get some pictures up! Friday I threw the kids a "little" Halloween party with some of their friends. Even though I was feeling pretty miserable, I had a good time!

October Bunco Night!

Well, I am super tired and should go to bed, but thought I would post some pictures of our super Bunco night!! It was at Heathers this month and was costume optional. Should have been required. I decided I would go as static cling girl. I looked much more fabulous when I left the house, but as the night wore on, my hair started just to fall down. I sewed socks and dryer sheets to my clothes. Anyways, fun night, as always. I was sooo close to a Bunco win, but it was a tie between me and JJ and..well...she won. Good food, good friends, good times. I look forward to our monthly get together! I think we all do!

Indy Dane

OK I lied, I thought I had nothing to post, but then I was looking out my window and saw Dane playing. He is really into Indiana Jones right now. We were at the grocery store yesterday and the new Indy movie was out and he held on tight. "Please mom, we have to get this". How could I say no? It is his most favorite thing! He is always humming the theme song...always. He makes me sing a ridiculous song that I made up one night about him and Indiana Jones being best friends and finding buried treasure. This hat he is wearing belonged to my Grandpa who worked for the Border Patrol. Somehow I acquired it and at lunch today (Dane insisted on wearing the hat everywhere today) my mom said it was probably about 40 years old. But it is a great Indy hat for him. So anyway, Dane was playing some imaginary game, probably with imaginary Indiana Jones. I was trying to take the pictures through my double paned window so they are a little blurry. I knew by the time I tried to run outside, he would stop or yell at me for taking more pictures of him!

I'm playing Kate's game too...

Sorry, can't think of anything to post or any pictures to post, so I am going to copy Katie and copy her post! Play along if you dare...
