I'm Free!!!

I'm free, I'm freeeeee! Today was a monumental day for me, as all of my children were in school! Folks, this has been the first time I haven't had to get a babysitter to go somewhere on my own! I took Dane into his preschool, got him situated and with a kiss and a hug I was out the door. I had a grin from ear to ear and was about to do a little dance and a sprint to my car but there were still parents out there. I didn't want them to come over to check my trunk for luggage. Maybe I feel slightly guilty, that maybe I should be pulling out the hanky cuz my little one is leaving my protective arms and moving on to the big time. Or maybe I don't. Yeah I don't. He's ready, I am ready. I drove into Target, got some birthday presents. I went to the grocery store. I went to the bookstore. I even went home for a little while to surf the net. All this in two and a half hours. I got to drive my car with the music blasting, no worrying about blowing little eardrums. I listened to whatever I wanted. What a good morning! Now I have figured I need to get a laptop so I can be one of those cool people in the coffee shops with no kids. Maybe I will start writing a book with all this free time. Oh the possibilities are endless.
Dane loved preschool and cant wait to go back. He chattered my ear off all the way home about his new friends and painting, and playing with Lego's and......well you get the picture.

A Day with Buddies

Today Dane and I met up with Kate and Zoe to eat at our (my) favorite bagel place. So nice (and inexpensive) to only take one kid out to lunch. Then we headed over to the pet shop to see the kitties and the kids had a good time playing with them. Then off to the park so the kids could run around and play before it was time to go get the big kids from school! Dane and Zoe have known each other since they were born, so it is so fun to watch them turn into little people. They chit chat and laugh. I really do hope they get married because Kate and I will have a great slide show of their childhood together at their wedding. Here are some pictures of our day....

Lonely Dane

My little Dane is lonely without the kids. They are off to school now and Dane doesn't start preschool until Friday and even then, it is only a couple days a week. All morning long it has been "Mommmm, I want the kids. Lets go get the kids. puuuhleeeezzzz!" So I must keep this kid busy with crafts and places to go, otherwise the whining will drive me crazy! My little Picasso was very proud of his creations and we taped them all up on the fence to show the kids and Dad when they get home!
